Imagine a three lane road, a highway, and everyone is driving at a different speed. Those in the right lane are merging on and off and going fairly slow and cautious. Those in the middle lane are moving along at a consistent speed, making progress, but not going too fast or too slow. Those in the left lane are ‘on a mission,’ they move a bit faster and are intent on getting to their destination soon.
All of us are like that in our walk with Jesus. Some of us are checking things out; not quite sure what we believe just yet, we’re in the right lane going slow and cautious. Others of us are in that center lane, making progress, consistent and focused, fairly certain of what we believe and are ready to move forward in our relationship with Jesus in a consistent way. Then there are those of us in the left lane. Committed. Ready to go faster and make definite progress in our relationship with Jesus. There is a lane, and a speed, for everyone!
